圖書設備規劃

     　　本校於民國92年8月由「國立高雄應用科技大學金門分部」改制獨立設校，依據教育部91.08.21台技(二)字第0922288011號函之組織規程，設立圖書館，負責蒐集教學研究資料，提供資訊服務。為了追求能與國內外一流大學競爭之目標，增強全體師生的學術專業能力及人文素養，圖書館硬軟體的擴充改善亟具其必要性。

      　　為配合校院永續發展，於民國96年1月動土興建現代化的圖資大樓，於民國97年12月底完工啟用。主要空間包括圖書資料空間、閱覽區、展示空間、多媒體中心、視聽室、國際會議廳、演講廳、PC網路教室和計算機與網路中心行政辦公室等，總面積為7901.22平方公尺。

      　　國立金門大學是一所綜合型的大學，配合國家社會發展的需要，將致力於培養更多兼具研究與實務能力的人才，為達成此目標，本校將持續充實各項圖書設備以符需求。就圖書而言，目前本校圖書館內藏書總冊數為221,677冊，平均每位學生擁有之圖書數達53.22冊，且逐年成長中。其他非圖書之資料庫亦將隨本校轉型需求逐年增購中。以下就一般圖書、專業圖書、期刊、雜誌、非書籍資料、珍貴館藏等方面說明如下。

      1.　一般圖書

      　　為配合通識教育，一般圖書經費運用以本館經費為主，購置各系所共用之圖書、各系所師生推薦之圖書、參考書及各類較相關性之資料為主，預計每年將以5,000冊之成長量，來擴充館藏。

      2.　專業圖書

      　　在專業圖書方面，主要經由本館依各系所編列經費，統一購置系所老師推薦之專業圖書資源，並配合新增系所專業需求，將因應擴大選購新增系所之專業圖書，達到各系所師生所需之要求，預計專業圖書之成長量為每年30,000冊。

      3.　期刊雜誌

      　　本館在期刊雜誌方面現有中、西及日文期刊總計429種，另有電子資源中所含電子期刊18,285種。未來在增購期刊方面，中文期刊預計由275種增至500種，西文期刊由142種增至300種，並增訂電子期刊以充實期刊之種類。本館同時提供讀者利用「全國文獻傳遞服務系統NDDS」，以加速讀者獲取最新之資料。

      4.　非紙本圖書資料(視聽資料、電子資源)

      　　為因應媒體發展多樣化，館藏包含各種形式之資料，有鑑於數位時代的來臨，甫完工之圖資大樓內部設有多媒體中心、視聽室，因此未來的規劃上，亦將朝向多元化之資料，如電子資料庫、電子書及符合館藏特色之各類視聽媒體等。資料庫之取得，除了以參加全國學術電子資訊資源共享聯盟方式，續訂目前已訂購之26種資料庫外，在經費許可下亦逐年自行增購以充實館藏，提供全校師生更健全便利的查詢服務。在電子書方面，本校已陸續參加「全國學術資源倍增行動方案」及「臺灣學術電子書聯盟」，累積購置電子書達78,164冊，未來將持續參加各類電子書採購聯盟，以快速增加此方面之藏書，提供全校師生最新的數位知識。

      5.　珍藏館藏

      　　圖書館現有胡璉將軍珍藏圖書9,277冊、周陽山教授捐贈珍藏圖書15,002冊、張佛千先生捐贈珍藏圖書2,333冊、、高永光教授捐贈珍藏圖書3,107冊、劉德勳教授捐贈珍藏圖書3,679冊、鄭貞銘教授捐贈珍藏圖書2,218冊，其中周陽山教授及張佛千先生之珍藏圖書已編目並完成上架工作。胡璉將軍珍藏圖書亦已完成建檔工作，目前保存於圖資大樓四樓之獨立空間，經徵詢國家圖書館保存舊籍方式，於兼顧舊籍保存及讀者使用方向妥善處理。另於經費許可範圍內考量將珍貴舊籍資料數位化，以提供校內外讀者更多元化服務，並提昇館藏使用品質。

In August 2003, our school was established as an independent institution separate from the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Science Quemoy branch. This separation was undertaken in accordance with the organizational regulations outlined in the letter no. 0922288011, dated August 21, 2003, issued by the Ministry of Education. The library was established with the purpose to collect materials for research purposes, as well as to offer comprehensive information services. We aim to enable our institution to compete effectively with top universities, both domestically and internationally. Moreover, it seeks to enhance the academic and productive capacity, as well as the cultural literacy, of our valued faculty and students. Making improvements to the infrastructure of our library is one of our top priorities. 

In order to facilitate the sustainable development of our university, the construction of the library commenced in January 2007. It was successfully completed and made operational by the end of December 2008. The main facilities encompass various areas such as book collection sections, reading spaces, an exhibition area, multimedia centers, audiovisual rooms, an international conference hall, lecture halls, computer classrooms, and administrative offices for the computer and networking center. In total, these facilities occupy an expansive area of 7,901.22 square meters. 

National Quemoy University is committed to nurturing talented individuals who possess both research expertise and practical competencies, in alignment with ongoing transformation of the society in our country. Our library holds an expanding number of  221,677 books, with an average of 53.22 books per student. In line with the evolving needs of our institution, we are actively acquiring ebooks to complement our resources. The following sections provide comprehensive information on the various collections available in our library, including general collections, textbooks, magazines, ebooks, and special collections.

1. General Collections

In accordance with our commitment to general education, the funds allocated for general books primarily stem from the library budget. These funds are utilized to procure books that are shared among various departments, as well as books recommended by faculty and students from diverse academic disciplines. Additionally, reference books and related materials are included in this category. As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our collection, we anticipate an annual expansion of 5,000 volumes, further enriching the resources available to our library users.

2. Textbooks

The primary funding is allocated by the library, in accordance with the budget allocated by each department. This funding is specifically designated for the acquisition of textbooks recommended by the faculty of each department, as well as to address the growing demands associated with emerging departmental specialties. We anticipate a substantial annual growth rate in the textbook collection, with an expected addition of 30,000 volumes per year. This expansion will effectively cater to the evolving needs of our students and faculty members.

3. Magazines

Our library currently offers a wide range of reading materials, including 429 magazines in Chinese, Western, and Japanese languages, along with an extensive collection of 18,285 e-magazines. To further enhance our periodical collection, we have set ambitious goals for expansion. We aim to increase the number of Chinese magazines from 275 to 500 and the number of Western magazines from 142 to 300. In addition, we are continuously adding e-magazines to enrich the variety of journals available to our readers. Moreover, we provide our readers with convenient access to the National Document Delivery Service System (NDDS), which expedites the acquisition of the latest information and resources.

4. Audiovisual media and ebooks

The library collection is continually adapting to the evolving media landscape by encompassing diverse forms of data. In response to the digital age, the newly constructed library building is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia centers and audio-visual rooms. As part of future planning, there will be a strong emphasis on acquiring diversified data, including electronic databases, e-books, and various audio-visual media that align with the library's mission. To enhance the collection and facilitate convenient access for all faculty and students while staying within budget, the library actively participates in the National Academic Electronic Information Resource Sharing Alliance and has already subscribed to 26 databases. Moreover, the library intends to increase this number annually. In terms of e-books, our school has made significant progress by participating in the National Academic Resource Doubling Action Plan and the Taiwan Academic E-book Alliance, resulting in the cumulative purchase of 78,164 e-books. To further enrich the collection with up-to-date digital knowledge, the library will continue engaging in various ebook procurement alliances.

5. Special Collection

The library boasts an impressive collection of donated books, including 9,277 books from General Hu Lian, 15,002 books from Professor Zhou Yangshan, 2,333 books from Mr. Zhang Foqian, 3,107 books from Professor Gao Yongguang, 3,679 books from Professor Liu Dexun, and 2,218 books from Professor Zheng Zhenming. Currently, the collections donated by Professor Zhou Yangshan and Mr. Zhang Foqian have been meticulously cataloged and properly shelved for easy access. The collection donated by General Hu Lian has also undergone cataloging and is stored separately on the fourth floor of the library building. To ensure the preservation and accessibility of these valuable old books, consultations were conducted with the National Library, resulting in an appropriate preservation method that facilitates their use by readers. Furthermore, the library has allocated funds within the approved budget to digitize precious old materials, expanding the range of services offered to readers both on and off campus. This initiative aims to enhance the utilization and overall quality of the library's collection.
