“The Uproar at Fengyi Pavilion” is an episode from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. At its core is Wang Yun’s interlocking stratagem, in which Lü Bu secretly meets Diaochan and Dong Zhuo, enraged, hurls his halberd at Lü Bu. The confrontation successfully deepens the suspicion and hostility between Dong Zhuo and his adopted son Lü Bu, setting the stage for Lü Bu’s eventual killing of Dong Zhuo.
